KIRKLAND, WA, April 25, 2013
– Wave Broadband, the premiere provider of advanced video, true high-speed internet and phone services to over 400,000 residential and commercial customers in Washington, Oregon, and California announced today the company has launched multi-room DVR service, TV On Demand and added over 100 digital channels to its Port Townsend cable TV lineup, with more product enhancements to come in 2013.

Since Wave Broadband purchased the Port Townsend cable system from Broadstripe Northwest early in 2012, the company upgraded its fiber network, launched affordable Wave Phone service, and faster internet speeds. Now Wave has added more advanced services and more channels.

Wave is now offering advanced digital equipment, the multi-room DVR, to give customers more freedom and control. With multi-room DVR, the company says customers can access recorded shows on every connected receiver in the house, and pause a show in one room, and pick up where they left off in another room.

TV On Demand gives customers with digital equipment instant access to 15,000 hours of movies and shows on demand with a click of the remote.  Mostly free programming, TV On Demand has full VCR-functionality such as pause, rewind and fast-forward.

Wave also added over 100 new channels to the lineup on April 24. Customers were notified prior to the upgrade and were mailed a new channel lineup in advance of the changes.

“We are delighted to offer our Port Townsend customers more sought-after and highly requested programming; our commitment is to work hard to negotiate fair agreements with our programming partners in order to deliver the quality programming our customers request and demand, at a value they can be happy with,” said Colette Jelineo, CMO for Wave Broadband. Jelineo added “And our new advanced multi-room DVR and TV On Demand gives Port Townsend customers more control and value for their home entertainment dollar.”

Jelineo went on to hint that more advanced Wave products, including 50 Mbps high speed internet and additional advanced video services will be available to Port Townsend customers in the near future, so keep an eye open for mail and email notifications.

As a result of the network upgrade, some channels previously broadcast in analog are now being delivered in digital format for better picture quality, requiring a digital set top to view.

Wave is following an industry-wide trend of eliminating analog feeds in order to free up bandwidth for more channels, more high-definition signals, faster Internet speeds and more advanced services demanded by consumers. To ensure customer satisfaction, Wave is offering customers one digital equipment option free of charge for up to a year. Each option provides crystal-clear digital picture and sound, along with continued access to these channels.  Free equipment options for customers include a Universal Converter, an Enhanced Digital Receiver or a HD-DVR.
