What are "sun spots" (sun outages) and how will they affect cable?
When the sun passes behind a satellite, the channels that are distributed by that satellite may be affected by what are called "sun spots." These sun spots are not specific to Wave Broadband or even to Washington State. If you experience a sun outage on a particular channel, that channel is being affected all over the country.
Occasionally, we may experience short term outages on particular channels due to sun spots or sun outages. This occurs for about two weeks every spring and every fall. What you may experience on a channel is a fuzzy signal, sparkles, or a complete loss of the channel. This will usually last for 5 to 15 minutes.

Do I need any special equipment to watch limited or basic cable?
No. To have limited or basic cable you do not need any special equipment. A digital receiver is now or will be soon needed to receive digital cable or premium channels such as HBO. The Interactive Guide comes with Digital Cable and is a service that allows you to navigate basic cable and digital cable channels easily. Using your remote, you can search for programming by reviewing channels, titles and times. The guide lets you set favorite channels, reminders, parental controls, and watch pay-per-view movies all with your remote control.

What is digital music?
Digital Music is a commercial-free, CD-quality music. This service comes with Digital Cable. These channels have all types of music, from country to rock to classical and everything in between.

Will I get a better picture with Digital Cable?
Digital Cable channels can have a clearer picture and sound than analog cable channels. Getting digital cable will not change the picture on your analog channels. Wave strives to provide excellent picture quality. If you are not receiving excellent picture quality, please contact us.

Do I need to have a digital television in order to enjoy Digital Cable?
No. Digital Cable will work on any type of television.
